Vickie Lynn (England) Duke

Vickie Lynn England Duke, 57, of Vidor, passed away on January 13, 2021. Born in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1963 to Hal Edward England and Emma Lee Nichols England. Vickie spent her entire life here in the Vidor area where she was well-known and loved for her kind heart and sweet countenance. Married for 31 years to the love of her life, Michael “Mike” David Duke, Vickie and Mike built a beautiful life. To know Vickie was to know she was truly a Jill-of-All-Trades and capable of anything she put her mind to. From raising her family to crafting drapes, puppets, costumes- this talented mother was always doing something. Extremely active in her church, especially with children’s ministries, Vickie loved the Lord and serving her church family. Full of joy and love for everyone around her, Vickie cared for those around her and truly loved her grandbabies. This bright light will be deeply missed and her love and memory will not soon be forgotten.

Vickie is preceded in death by her father, Hal Edward England.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Emma Lee England; her beloved husband Mike Duke of Beaumont; children, Melinda Watson and husband Joseph of Vidor and Nisha Ready and husband Brian of Vidor; sisters, Tammy Watson and husband Thomas, Kimberly Laughlin and husband Bingo, and Brenda Tackett and husband Richard; numerous nieces and nephews; and her grandchildren, Kara Bossier and Cayden Watson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trent Watson, Jeff Laughlin, Jordan Laughlin, Kennen Tackett and Joseph Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Watson, Bingo Laughlin and Richard Tackett.

To honor Vickie’s life, the family will have a time of Visitation on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM at Victory Bible Baptist Church, 620 South St., Vidor, TX 77662. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Victory Bible Baptist Church, 620 South St., Vidor, TX 77662. Vickie will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in Vidor, TX following the services.
