Robert Rackley Sr. Obituary

Mr. Robert Lee Rackley, Sr., 66, of Lumberton, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020. Robert was born July 23, 1953 in South Houston, TX to Idella Elizabeth (Calhoun) Rackley and N.B. Rackley. A kind caring man, Robert was a funny man that could always make you laugh. Everyone who knew Robert loved him and his charismatic personality; forever willing to help anyone around him, Robert was selflessly generous. Robert was a strong, capable, proud man who took immense pride in his work, family and the legacy of his name. Robert was lucky enough to find his wife, Charlotte Lynn (Baynard) Rackley with whom he was able to build a beautiful and blessed life, complete with five children and three grandchildren who were easily his pride and joy. Robert loved his family with an unconditional love that superseded every situation, circumstance and choice each of his loved ones ever made- making Robert the pillar of constant love and support to his loved ones. An avid fisherman, Robert loved the water and eagerly shared that love with his friends and family; it is said that the ever giving Robert couldn't even be trusted to go fishing without risking him giving his cooler away to a stranger or friend in need. A devoted husband, loving father and caring "Grandpa", Robert truly understood his purpose in life to build, love and support his family. While Robert will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him, it is a deep comfort to know that the diseases, trails, and tribulations of this earthly world have been exchanged for the freedoms and celebration that was waiting Robert in his heavenly home where Robert can again live life to the fullest.

Left to cherish his memory and legacy, Robert Lee Rackley Sr. leaves his wife, Charlotte Lynn (Baynard) Rackley; his children, son Robert Lee Rackley Jr. and partner Craig Connors, daughter Sarah Rackley and partner Paul Hanson, daughter Rebekah G. Durel and husband Ryan, son Matthew Rackley, and daughter Rachel L. Rackley; his brother Louis Rackley and wife Sharon; and his grandchildren, Morgan Martinez, Brody Martinez, and Jack Durel.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents, N.B Rackley and Idella Rackley; and his sister Linda McCoy.
