If you ever met Mike for any length of time, you would hear about his relationship with Jesus and he would share with you how you could have a relationship with him too. It was Mike’s desire that everyone know Christ. His life involved many different occupations and hats, but none he wore more proudly than that of being a believer of Jesus Christ. Some of his earlier occupations included working at Dupont and being a teacher at Touch Christian Academy where he influenced more lives that he could ever imagine. He served in the Prison Ministry with his father-in-law and the Petro Truck Stop Ministry for many years. Mike also served on missionary trips to Belize and Russia. He was always helping with whatever ministry he could get involved in or whatever shenanigans Jada involved him in. He was also a well-known business owner of Cardinal Fence and Property Service for more than 30 years and was still the best gate guy in the area. The pebble of Mike Kamp’s legacy will ripple for years to come in influencing others and he will be remembered by many as a kind and gentle man who loved Jesus and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Jada Bundick Kamp and his three children, Michael, Madison and Mikayla Kamp of Beaumont, TX and two daughters he loved as his own, Lali Stanley of Fort Worth, TX and Robin Mires (Morris) of Lumberton, TX. His grandchildren are Jade and Evan Stanley of Fort Worth, TX and Deuce and Tre Mires of Lumberton, TX. He is also survived by two brothers, Franklin Peter Kamp (Melody) of McKinney, TX and Rick Kamp (Pam) of Baytown, TX, his beloved mother-in-law Delores “Nonnie” Bundick, siblings-in-law Hermie Bundick (Patsy), Jeffery Bundick (Lydia) and Karen Bundick Glidden (Keith) and his adored Aunt Billie Jean Hebert. He leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces—Ricky, Terry, Donnie, Ronnie, Stephanie, Jason, Kim, Leah, Jacob, Aimee, Sara, Cole, Justin, Nicole, Kolin and Kevin, great-nephews, great-nieces and a host of family and friends.
Carrying Mike to his final resting place will be his nephews Donnie Kamp and Kevin Glidden, lifelong friends Will Morris and Mark Thompson and his Life Group buddies Ronnie Sheffield and George Springer.
