Dora Andrepont Obituary

Mrs. Dora Joan “BB” Andrepont, 75, of Lumberton went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Joan was born on September 12, 1945 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Lillian and Elton Ardion.

One of six siblings Joan grew up knowing the value of family; this knowledge and upbringing would lead Joan to become an astounding matriarch in her family. Joan’s life revolved around her two children, her home and friends, but most of all her beloved husband Russell. Not many people have the kind of love story that Russell and Joan shared; meeting their soulmate and life partner in Kindergarten, they would spend more than 70 years together as friends and then partners in life. A beautiful marriage of more than 58 years stands to show the true longevity of both Russell and Joan’s devotion to each other. A homemaker would be an overly simple way to describe the constant love and care that Joan gave to her beloved family on a daily basis. From making fantastic homecooked meals, being a homeroom mom for her two children, working with the PTA, always taking everyone to practice and ballgames, and of course never missing a chance to support and love her children- Joan was an amazing mother who truly would do anything for her children. When her children had children, Joan was soon dubbed “BB” and from then on, her focus and love was multiplied and extended to her grandchildren as well.

When Joan was not keeping a home to rival the organization and beauty of a Better Homes and Garden feature- she was most likely in her beloved yard. Sunshine and dirt combined with water and lots of love to create spectacular gardens and a well-kept yard that often overflowed with flowers.

It is remarkably hard to sum up the love, devotion, and care that Joan poured into the homes she lived in, the people she loved and friends around her over her 75 years here. But rest assured, Heaven is rejoicing with a new voice today and Joan’s legacy of love and care will not soon be forgotten by any that had the joy of knowing her.

Left to carry on her memory is her husband, Russell Andrepont; her two children, Kevin Andrepont and Shannon Andrepont; her sister Leola Guidory; her grandbabies, Tyler Andrepont, and Ashlynn Andrepont; her feline friends at home; and numerous friends over the years and extended family members.

Joan is joyfully reunited with her parents Lillian and Elton Ardion; and her siblings, Son Ardion, Lester Ardion, Sable Paul, and Gloria Veillon in heaven.
