Deborah DeBretagne Pipps Obituary

Deborah Kate DeBretagne Pipps, a longtime resident of Silsbee, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 75.

Deborah was born on August 12, 1951, to James DeBretagne and Laverne DeBretagne. She spent many years of her life in Silsbee, where she built a life surrounded by family, friends, and those who loved her. Deborah was raised in a loving family with several siblings. Her father, James DeBretagne, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He fought at Iwo Jima and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. His courage, service, and sacrifice remain an important part of the DeBretagne family legacy. Deborah was a cosmetologist by profession and dedicated her career to making others feel beautiful and cared for. Her work allowed her to connect with many people throughout the years, leaving behind lasting memories and friendships. Deborah loved the simple joys in life. She loved listening to music and dancing, and she was an avid fisherman who truly enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. Some of her happiest moments were spent fishing, laughing, listening to music, and making long-lasting memories with the people she loved. These memories will be treasured by all who had the privilege of sharing them with her.

Deborah was the loving mother of two children, her daughter, Deidre Hoke, and her son, Lucien James Pipps Jr. She was also a beloved grandmother to Kadence Stewart, the daughter of Deidre, who held a special place in her heart.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, James DeBretagne and Laverne DeBretagne; her daughter, Deidre Hoke; and Lucien James Pipps Sr., the father of her son, Lucien Jr.

Those left to cherish Deborah’s memory include her son, Lucien James Pipps Jr., and his wife, Nina Pipps; her beloved granddaughter, Kadence Stewart; her sister, Renee DeBretagne Schmidt; her brothers, Edward McDaniel, a former U.S. Marine Corps member, and James DeBretagne Jr. and his wife, Maetha DeBretagne; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Deborah will be remembered for the life she shared with those around her, the love she had for her family, her love of music and dancing, her passion for fishing, and the many memories she created with family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

May she rest peacefully and forever be remembered.
