David Roy Barnes Jr.

David Roy Barnes Jr., 47, passed away in Vidor on Sunday, April 25, 2021. David was born in Beaumont on April 17, 1974 to David Roy Barnes Sr. and Evelyn Sue Neill.

David was a man who truly loved the simpler things in life. From helping his mother in the garden and his enthusiastic decorating of his mother’s house many a Christmas, to his general love of the outdoors- David was always doing something. When David wasn’t helping his mother, you might find him working with his stepdad, Tim, on many different projects over the years. Often these days sporting a Under Armour cap and finding all the things at Academy to bring home or eating out with his family- David was a man on the move. Known as PawPaw Dave to his two grandbabies, he was just starting to build some beautiful memories at the holidays with them and loving every moment of it. So the next time you hear a good oldies song, remember David and his quiet love for those closest to him and his memory will continue to live on.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Sue Padgett and husband Tim; his daughter, Shelby Butts and husband Hunter; his sisters, Lori Wallace and husband John, Linda Peet and husband Reggie; his grandchildren, Kason Butts and Kinsley Butts; his 3 nephews, 2 nieces, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Roy Barnes Sr.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at New Life Church on the Rock, 3116 N Main St Vidor, TX 77662. The funeral service will follow and begin at 12:00PM at New Life Church on the Rock, 3116 N Main St Vidor, TX 77662. Internment will immediately follow services at Restlawn Memorial Park, 2725 N Main St Vidor, TX 77662.
