Mr. Bobby Ray Wilson, 64, of Vidor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022. Bobby was born on Sunday, July 14, 1957, in Groves, Texas to Robert Ray Wilson Sr. and Betty Jean (Barron) Hossley. A proud Veteran of the United States Army and a loving family man, Bobby was the kind of giving man who would take the shirt off his back to give to another while doing without one himself. Kind to his core, Bobby was well loved and loved others in his own unique way. Bobby loved his Lord God and continued to devote his life to the Lord over and over again, even rededicating and being baptized three times in his life. He also loved his family fiercely, especially his many nieces and nephews who became like his own children to him. You always knew where to find Bobby when the little ones, especially babies, where around, he’d be right there holding them and loving them! Bobby was a jack of all trades throughout his life, working and mastering many different fields from carpentry to cooking (which he started at just nine years old!). This outgoing and deeply loving man will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will not soon be forgotten.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Pamela Jean Brady and husband Terry Dean of Vidor, Dwayne Monroe Hossley Sr. of Martinsville, Donna Marie Stone and husband Stephen Miles of Vidor, Jackie Lea Woods and husband Donald of Vidor, and Robert Ray Wilson Jr. and wife Pat of Mauriceville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends through the years.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harrison “PawPaw” Barron and Lessie “MawMaw” Barron; his father, Robert Ray Wilson Sr.; his mother, Betty Jean (Barron) Hossley and husband J.W.; and many of his cousins, aunts, and uncles through the years.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church on the Rock of Vidor. Bobby’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at New Life Church on the Rock of Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joby Fredieu, Brennan Seamann, Brandon Seamann, Jonathan Flanigan, Parker Smith, and Monroe Hossley. Serving as a honorary pallbearer will be Vincent Lazcano.
