James Curtis "J.C." Schexnider

James Curtis "J.C." Schexnider, age 81, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on June 17, 2018. He was born to Albert and Thelma Schexnider on March 31, 1937 in Port Acres, TX.

James was a long-term resident of Lumberton, TX where he lived with his loving wife of 38 years, Cathy, and family. James pursued many successful endeavors in life, including owning his own construction company and ranch. Whenever given the opportunity you could always find James in the garden or the kitchen pursuing his passionate love of gardening and cooking. James will be remembered as a loving spouse, devoted father and doting grandfather.  

Left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Cathy Schexnider; daughter, Karen Schexnider-Tracy; sons, Chris Schexnider and wife Ashley, and Kurt Schexnider and wife, Cheryl; brother, Lawrence Schexnider; sister, Ethel Labure; and grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Madison, Brooke, and Jordan.

Preceding James in death were his parents and his sisters Dorothy Crowder and Helen Davis.

A time of visitation and remembrance with family and friends to honor the life of James Curtis Schexnider, will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home at 766 S. Main St. Lumberton, TX.
