Carolyn Ann Bridges Pedersen, age 73, of Beaumont, TX, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018  in her home surrounded by those she loved and that loved her. Carolyn was born to James William Bridges and Carrie Marie Wells Bridges on September 8, 1945 in McClain, OK.

She was known by many names, Mom, Carlos and Granny, but it was her spirit that truly defined her. Carolyn was one of a kind, both in her joyous attitude and her complete dedication to living life to its fullest. Carolyn travelled for parts of her career and for her explorative nature, visiting the far reaches of the continental United States. Just a few of her adventures included digging for crystals in Arkansas, enjoying the Gulf Shores of Texas, crappie fishing as one of the “Three Musketeers” in Grand Lake at her brother and sister's home and, of course, the casinos of Oklahoma; all the while searching for hidden treasures in every junk store along the way. Whether she was making fudge, peanut brittle or just making memories with loved ones dear to her, Carolyn loved to create things; every moment was a brush stroke that she used to paint her life’s canvas.

Left to honor her memory are daughters, Felicia Hancock of Beaumont, TX, Shellda Patino and husband, Clyde, of Tulia, TX and Sondra Edmonds and husband, Frank Krock Alfar, of Galveston, TX; brother, Charles Edward Bridges of Grove, OK; sister, Marcia Lynn Leaverton of Grove, OK; grandchildren, Brittany, Heidi, Holly, Whitney and J-Mike; and many great-grandchildren.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and brother, James William Bridges Jr.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, TX 77657. Carolyn’s life honoring service will follow at 6:00 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Drew Lynch and Chaplain Felissia Jackson officiating.
