Zachary Michael Metcalf

Zachary Michael Metcalf, 6, of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Zachary's life may seem to short to many, but those who knew him understood that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His big brown eyes could melt the heart of those around him.  His smile would make everything around you disappear. His laugh was music to our ears. He changed all of our lives forever. 

Zachary possessed strength, perseverance and the ability to overcome incredible odds. Zachary's strength gave us the opportunities to create lasting memories. He loved to be cuddled, wrapped up in his blankets while watching a movie. He enjoyed to go on the many adventures to Aquariums, Zoos, festivals and to visit family. He loved to feel the sunshine, rain or even snowflakes on his face.

He loved his family.... And we loved him, we called him Super Z.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Jessie Metcalf; grandparents, Tiffany Peoples and husband, Michael of Beaumont, Dave Hummel, Jr. of Canton, Ohio, Dave and Patty Metcalf of Ellenton, Florida; great-grandparents, Dr. Mark and Dottie Potapczuk of Akron, Ohio, Dave Hummel Sr. of Canton, Ohio, Elsie Metcalf of Ellenton, Florida; brothers, Nicholas Metcalf, Robert “Jr.” Metcalf and sister, Isabella Metcalf, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Billy Graff.
