William Keith Swearingen, Jr.

William Keith Swearingen, Jr., 59, of Beaumont, Texas flew away to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.  William was born on June 9, 1958 to William Keith Sr., and Mary Lou Swearingen in Beaumont, Texas.  He was a graduate of Lumberton High School and he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in Civil Engineering where he graduated with honors. William retired from the Texas Department of Transportation where we worked as an engineer. 

William was a HUGE NASCAR fan and he was a Dallas Cowboys season ticket holder.

William was considered a mild-mannered gentleman; a gentle soul.  He was also strong-willed and would stand for what was right, even when it was not the popular point of view.  He would stand up for others when they could not stand up for themselves.  His gentle and caring spirit will be missed by those who were blessed to know him.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William Keith Sr., and Mary Lou Swearingen; and a brother, Frank Swearingen.

William is survived by three sisters, Mary Wolf, and husband, Robert, Alice Green, and husband, Jonathan, and Theresa Kemp; a brother, George Swearingen, and wife Theresa; nieces and nephews, Michelle Yearsley, John Derek Kemp, Rachael Yearsley, Nicole Kemp, Frank Swearingen, Jr., and Ginger Swearingen; as well as other family members and friends.

A Life Honoring Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 2:00pm in the chapel at Lumberton Family Funeral Home.
