Thadeus M. Hatton

Thadeus Maurice Hatton was born May 28, 1933 in Tyler County Texas to Thaddeus Cecil and Estelle Belle (Geldard) Hatton.  On March 1, 1958 he married Earl Dee Birch.  Together they began a life that followed Maurice’s love of music.  After completing a Master of Music from East Texas Baptist College, Maurice began his career of teaching music in public schools while leading music in Baptist churches.  His 35-year career took them to Crockett, TX; Raton, NM; Texarkana, TX; Sweeny, TX; Warren, TX; and Kountze, TX.

Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dee; their son, John Hatton, and wife, Virginia; a daughter, Rachel Niemann, and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Josh Hatton and Sam Hatton, Abigail Niemann, and husband, Lewis, Alison Vetter, and husband, Michael, and Jacob Niemann; great grandchildren, Bonnie, Charlotte and Walter Niemann, and Gus Vetter; a brother, Kenneth Hatton, and wife, Carol; sisters, Reba June Irwin, and husband, Jim, Melinda Williams, and husband, Mike, and Eva Norvell, and husband, Wayne; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Wildwood Baptist Church, Village Mills, TX.
