Shirley R. Williams, 79, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 6, 2016, at her home. She was born June 3, 1936 in Edinburg, Texas, to Lee Robinson and Ione McMillon Robinson. She married Edwin C. Williams and lived in the Rio Grande Valley before starting their journey to living in Tripoli, Libya and Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. Shirley retired with her husband in 1984, making their home in Lumberton, Texas. She had a life filled with travel, commitments and meaning. Mom was always the strength and rock to the family. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church of Lumberton. The true loves of Shirley’s life were God, family and friends. Shirley was a mother-figure and role model to many. Her gift of faith, along with her fabulous cooking were gifts to those who knew her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Floyd Lynn Williams; brothers, Lee and Oliver “Bud” Robinson.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Karen Parsley and fiancée, Troy Pickrell; son, Robert Williams; grandchildren, Justin Parsley and wife, Shelly, Holly and Kelly Williams, Shirley Marie Aguillard and husband, Glenn, Shalya and Bucky Christenson, Jason and Joey Williams and Eddie Lee; great-grandchildren, Carter Parsley and Gabrielle Aguillard; niece, Valerie Featherstone; nephew, William “Bill” Robinson; great-nieces, Katy Dunagan and Paige Carter; great-nephew, Michael Dunagan and many cousins.

Shirley’s family will receive friends Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Lumberton. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., officiated By Reverend Kyle Warren.

The Williams family would like to express our sincere gratitude to mom’s caregiver, Ashley Baker and Texas Home Health Hospice.  God bless you all.
