Rose Marie Sossaman

Rose Marie Sossaman, 74, of Kountze, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016. She moved here from Pennsylvania. She was president and treasurer of Post 6384 in Nederland for many years. She was very honest in everything and she would tell you what she thought. She was very artistic, she went to the Art Institute for years and enjoyed making angels for the V.F.W. and other charities. She loved to plant a garden with her husband and they planted 57 tomato plants every year. She had a very competitive spirit and played board games like Yahtzee and Bingo. She knew her Bible.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Sossaman; parents, Gerald and Gladys Oyster and sister, Nancy Schieffer.

She is survived by her children, Richard Kernechel, Jr. of Kountze, Randy Kernechel of Lumberton, Kelly Keith of Kountze and Susan Buxton and husband, Jeffrey of Lumberton; brothers, Howard Oyster of Quakerton, PA and Gerald Oyster, Jr.; sister, Sandy Allebach of Quakerton, PA; grandchildren, Ra-chelle Marie Sossaman, Brandon Brady, Cody Kernechel and Wendy Kernechel and 10 great-grandchildren.
