Patsy Nell Whiddon

Patsy Nell Whiddon, age 69, passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Levi Whiddon and Myrtle Boone on January 6, 1948 in Hattiesburg, MS.

Patsy spent her career as a lab tech for Dupont. Her 30 years of employment at Dupont afforded her the time to travel, a favorite past time. Her unique personality and strong willed independent opinions were a trait of Patsy's that made her so special. She was a knowledgeable person who loved to read, history was her favorite subject. She was very artistic, painting being one of her talents.  Even though she never married or had children of her own, Patsy treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own, William being her favorite. She loved to have her family at her home, especially around the holidays. She loved to entertain them with her cooking. Patsy was the best cook she ever knew.  Patsy loved animals, especially her dog Pete. Patsy will be greatly missed by all who loved her but her legacy will continue.

Left to honor Patsy's memory is her brother, John R. Whiddon and wife Juanita of Prairieville, LA; sister, Paulette P. Gilthorpe and husband William E. of Vidor, TX; nephews and nieces, Kenny Whiddon of Prairieville, LA, George Whiddon of Prairieville, LA, William E. Gilthorpe IV and girlfriend, April Bertrand of Vidor, TX, Jared Gilthorpe and wife Brooke of Vidor, TX, Katie Fox and husband Justin of Vidor, TX, Stefan Gilthorpe and fiancé Darla, Guillen of Houston, TX, and Mollie Gilthorpe of Houston, TX; great nieces and great nephews, Boone, Charlie, Emery, Larkin, Chad, Chase, Caleb, Parker, Carter and Tucker.

Preceding Patsy in death are her parents, Levi Whiddon and Myrtle Boone; great niece, Lexy Bertrand

Patsy's life honoring memorial service will be held Wednesday October 4, 2017 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6198 North FM 105, Vidor, TX, 77662.
