Linda Carol Bryan

Linda Carol Hopkins Bryan “Mammoux”, age 67, left this life on October 3, 2016. Linda was born in Beaumont, Texas on September 22, 1949 to Jake and Dorothy Hopkins. She attended Chance-Loeb, and was part of the first graduating class of Lumberton High School in 1968. Linda married the love of her life, Larry Bryan, on November 26, 1966 at the First Baptist Church in Lumberton. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church of Zavalla, TX. She was also an active member of American Legion Post #53. She is known for being the first accredited female umpire in the state of Texas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a supervisor at Bell Oil Company, a paint supervisor at South Park BISD, co-owner of Bryan Construction, and manager of Shady Acres RV Park in Baytown. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Hopkins.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, Larry Bryan of Lumberton; sister, Lynette Hopkins Barks of Lumberton; daughters, Laura Bryan Honea and husband, James, of Lumberton and Lea Bryan of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kristina Honea of Buna, James Ray Honea and wife, Rachel, of Silsbee, Shelby Murphy and fiancé Cody Menard of Winnie, Jacob Murphy of Lumberton; great grandson, Gavin Moore of Buna; nieces and nephews, Joseph W. Hopkins, Kerri Middleton, Kalynn Middleton Dickert her husband, Michael, and her stepson, Konner, Marilyn Bryan Wright, David Bryan, Terry Bryan, Russell Bryan; numerous great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Dickie and Deedle Parrot, Bradley and Debra McKinley, Larry and Mooney Nickelson, Steve and Renee Chapman, T-Bone and Janet Brown, Butch and Susie Barnes, Damien Grisham and a host of great friends.

Her family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 5, 2016. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 6, 2016 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Dickie Parrott.

Honorary pallbearers are James Honea, Joseph Hopkins, James Ray Honea, Jacob Murphy, Michael Dickert, Cody Menard and Gavin Moore.
