Kenneth Barclay Lloyd entered into eternal peace on June 13, at his home in Beaumont, Texas.  He had lived in Southeast Texas for most of his life.

He worked at Gerdau (formerly Northstar Steel ) for 35 years as a millwright.  Kenny took pride in his different roles: as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.  In the late 1960’s Ken was the Champion surfer at Meacom’s Pier at Crystal Beach.  His love for the ocean and water sports continued throughout his life, one of his favorite things to do was to spend time at the beach or the “Camp” at the lake.  He was well respected in his workplace and admired for his caring, compassionate, creative personality and intelligent wit by his whole family. His grandkids loved him for his willingness to try the hover board and jump on the trampoline just this past Christmas.  Kenny’s lifelong friends will remember the countless laughs, endless adventures, and stories too numerous to comprehend.  Kenny’s compassionate heart was also seen in the love for his pets, Sammy and Ms. Kitty.

His wife, Ginger Gammage Lloyd, and his parents, Harold A. Lloyd and Dorothy Barclay Lloyd, preceded Kenny in death.  He is survived by his son, Dr. Jeremy Lloyd, wife Christy, grandchildren, Megan and Max, of San Antonio.  His brothers, Andy Lloyd, of Beaumont, Jack Lloyd and wife Madonna of Beaumont. His sisters, Sissi Galloway and husband Greg of Austin, DeeDee Smith and husband Glenn of Hempstead.  Nieces: Marci Jordon, Mallory Lloyd, Jentry Balla, Hillary Gardiner, Allie Galloway and Baylee Smith.  His great nephews and niece: Avery Macbeth, Harper Gardiner and Hank Lloyd.

Please join us in celebrating Kenny’s life at a memorial service at Tradewinds Tavern inside the MCM Elegante Hotel, 2355 I-10 South (GPS address): 2355 Executive Blvd. Beaumont, Texas 77705, on Friday, June 17 at 2:00 pm.
Bring stories and pictures to share. Casual dress please!

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ken Lloyd may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, 4004 Memorial Blvd, Port Arthur, Texas.
