Kathy Jean Malone

Kathy Jean Abbott Malone, known family as Mama, Granny and Jean, was born June11, 1956, passed peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2016 grew up in Vidor, Texas. Her late husband, Buddy lovingly called all of us Jean as well.

Filled energy and outgoing personality, Kathy made friends easily. Before her illness, Kathy loved being outdoors, working in the yard, gardening, cooking meals for her family, picnics with her Grandkids, and playing board games. She also loved a good bourbon and coke!

As she was confined to bed, she loved watching cooking shows, reality TV, and staying on top of the latest news. She was clever, funny, and through life experiences gave the best advice that many of us leaned on.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, William Malone.

Kathy is survived by her two children: Misty Hayes of Vidor, TX and Kasandra Jaquez of Yelm, Washington. Her brother Stacy Abbott of Vidor, Texas, Son in Laws Cecil Hayes and Doug Jaquez, Grandchildren Daniel Kabouni, Alex Hayes, and Jacob Jaquez, and several fond relatives.
Preceded in Death are Her Parents Edward and Barbara Jean Abbott, brothers Herbert and James Abbott of Vidor, son Joshua Heider, and Granddaughter Nya Jaquez of Yelm, Washington.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints of Vidor.
