Juanita Ovelia (Landry) Rye

Juanita Ovelia Rye, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015. She resided in Vidor, Texas and was born on September 4, 1934. She was 81 years of age at the time of her passing. Juanita lived life abundantly, simply and was a woman who knew the true value of life…God, Country, and the love of her own and all family. Oh…how she loved her family!!!

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Jr. Rye; father, Lionel Joseph Landry and mother, Una Augustine Powers; sister, Beverly Ann "Billie" Powers; children, Patricia Ann Rye Kemp, David Alan Rye, Joseph Thomas Rye and Steven Joseph Rye.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Battaglia of Spurger; children, Jack C. Rye and wife Sandra of Vidor, Stewart Wayne Rye of Greeley, CO, Phillip Arron Rye and wife Susan of Mauriceville, Debbie Spalek and husband Robert of Pasadena, Donna Rye Cox of Vidor, Brenda Gray and husband Geoff of Albany, GA, Johnny Rye and wife Laura of Vidor and Bobby Kemp and wife Jessie of Pasadena; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home Friday, November 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor.

Serving as pallbearers will be Landen Comte, Nicholas Rye, Zachary Kelley, P.J. Rye, Steven Spalek and William Spalek.
