James Robert “Jamie” Mott, 63, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on July 5, 2017.  James was born in Beaumont on November 8, 1953 to Elmer and Annie Mae Mott.  James was a retired pipefitter; he was dedicated pipefitter for over 30 years. 

When James was young, he played baseball and was involved with Boy Scouts; he also loved duck and rabbit hunting.  James was a graduate of South Park High School in Beaumont.  James’ love of baseball lead him to be a devoted Astros fan and he also supported the Dallas Cowboys.   James loved family; he was known as “Shuffles” by his sisters family, and had rubber band fights with two great nephews.  James had a deep fatherly love for his daughter, Kyla Denee’ Mott.  James was close to his sister, Brenda Sleep.

 James is preceded in death by his daughter, Kyla Denee’ Mott; brothers, Joseph Dauriac of Lumberton, Texas, and Danny L. Mott, of Houston, Texas; nephew Brian M. Boyd of Beaumont.

James was survived by his sister, Brenda Sleep and husband Neil of Beaumont; four nephews, Byron Dauriac, and wife Jennifer, of Silsbee, Texas, Nicholas Dauriac, and wife Kim, from Colorado, Alan Penisson, of China, Texas, and Chris Smith, and wife Kayce, of Lumberton, Texas; one great niece, and four great nephews.

A life honoring Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 2pm to 4pm.
