James William DeWitt, Jr.

James William DeWitt, Jr., 64, of Vidor, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he was very active. James was going through the church discipleship program. He also taught Sunday School. He was involved in the Feed My Sheep Ministry as well as Kids for Christ Ministry. He was always doing what he could and lived his life to please the Lord.

James is preceded in death by his father, James William DeWitt, Sr. and step-son, Paul Adams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Jeanette DeWitt of Vidor; daughters, Cheryl Boutte and husband Paul of Sour Lake, Patty Walker and husband, Chuck of Sour Lake, son, Zayne DeWitt of Vidor; mother, Patricia “Tee” of Vidor, grandson, Nathan Boutte of Vidor; brothers, Eddy DeWitt and wife, Dottie of Vidor, Terry Dewitt and wife, Debra of Orange, and Gary DeWitt of Vidor; step-children, William, Randall, Edward, Anita, and Jackie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

His family will receive friends Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 P.M. AT Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Skipper Sauls.
