Jack Brumley, Sr.

Jack Brumley Sr, age 79, of Silsbee, TX, passed beyond the veil on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare in Silsbee, TX. He was born to Lessie Green Brumley and Ivy Brumley on February 2, 1936, in LaPorte, TX.

A beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, steadfast Christian believer, faithful and treasured friend. These are just a few words that would describe Jack Brumley Sr.  A hardworking man, he set an example for his children and taught them to do the same. All who knew him were touched by his fun-loving personality. Jack loved to do for others. People were his passion, and his witty nature always brought a smile to the faces of those that around him. His devoted wife, Joy, shared a 64 year marriage with Jack that blessed them with six children. His strong faith in Jesus Christ gave him the grace to get through his last days on this earth, but Jack has now received his reward. He has stepped into his inheritance. His natural and spiritual family will miss him, until the day appointed that we see him again.

Left to honor his memory is his dear wife and companion, Joy Ruth Brumley; his daughter, Donna Harris and husband, Ed, of Silsbee, TX; sons, Jack Brumley Jr. and wife, Angie, of Beaumont, TX, Richard Brumley of Silsbee, TX, Larry Brumley of Beaumont, TX and Ronnie Brumley and wife, Kathy, of Beaumont, TX; brother, John Brumley of Beaumont, TX; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Jack in death were his parents; 9 siblings; and departed son, Ivy Joe Brumley.

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, May 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St. Lumberton, TX. Funeral services honoring the life of Jack Brumley Sr. will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Word of Life Tabernacle in Silsbee, TX with Pastor Terry Sproule officiating.
