Hubert Wilson Moore

 Hubert Wilson Moore, 89, of Vidor, Texas passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018.  Hubert was born on October 9, 1928 in Deweyville, Texas.  Hubert had an uncertain childhood, but then at age 17, he was able to homestead property on the Neches River in Lakeview, Texas where he would remain for the rest of his life.  Hubert owned and operated the Moore boat launch for over 60 years on his property on the river.  Hubert was often referred to as the “Mayor of Lakeview”, unofficially of course.  Hubert was a kind, goodhearted man who always had a smile for everyone.  He never met a stranger, and he was a great storyteller.  His daughter stated that she never saw Hubert get mad about anything or at anyone.  He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Hubert is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Lamar, and husband, Gary; and a grandson, Calvin Lamar.
