Henry J (Hank) Rutherford

Henry J. “Hank” Rutherford, age 91, passed away Monday September 25, 2017. He was born to David Marion Rutherford and Nettie Oleta Brown on October 21, 1925.

Hank was a caring and giving man. He was a brilliant man who enjoyed working on anything mechanical. In his early years, Hank loved to drag race the vehicles he worked on. One of his hobbies was spending time as a ham radio operator, which he enjoyed doing for many years. Traveling and camping was a favorite pastime of his. In his later years, one could find him riding his bike around the neighborhood. Hank was an inspiration to everyone especially his nieces and nephew. They all looked up to him as a father figure. Uncle Hank will be greatly missed by all who loved him, but his legacy will continue.

Left to honor Uncle Hank’s memory is his niece, Nettie Smith of Beaumont, TX; great niece, Tammy Toups and husband Mike of Beaumont, TX; great nephew, Henry Smith and wife Nan of Beaumont TX; great great niece, Kathryn Comisky of Beaumont, TX; great great nephew, Dustin Toups and Yancy Smith of Beaumont, TX; and great great great nicece, Lydia Gregory of Beaumont TX.

Visitation with family and friends will be 10:00am Thursday September 28, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home , 766 S Main St. Lumberton TX. 77657. Followed by Hank’s life honoring service at 11:00am. Internment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland

Serving as Pallbearers are Mike Toups, Henry Smith, Dustin Toups, Tammy Toups, Kathryn Comisky, and Lydia Gregory.
