Floyd Delane Lytle, 76, of Beaumont, passed away on February 26, 2015. He was born on January 22, 1936, to Floyd Peyton Lytle and Delores Maxine White Lytle in Port Arthur, TX.

After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, Floyd served four years in the United Air Force as a member of the Air Police and Color Guard. Later he continued his work in law enforcement with the El Paso, Port Arthur, and then Port Neches police departments. Floyd was a Quarter Master in the Merchant Marines, fulfilling his love for the sea. He also owned and operated a trucking-transport company with his wife later in his life. They very much enjoyed seeing the country together on their travels.

A devoted husband and father, he was married to his sweetheart for 53 years. He was also a devoted Christian, who loved attending, ministering, and faithfully serving  in church.  Most recently in life, he and his wife attended Triangle Baptist church and then he extended his church family while attending with his children, Rhonda and Russell.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Ann Hill Lytle; brothers, Dean Friday of Pitkin, LA, Truman Lytle of Port Arthur, TX and Jack Lytle of Chicago, IL; sister, Gayla Ann Lytle of Sour Lake, TX

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rhonda Lytle Bourgeois and  husband,  Russell who he called his son, of Groves, TX, Joyce Carroll McDuffie of Canton, TX, DeAnn Lytle Menard and husband, Lawrence, of Buna, TX and Milton B. “Butch” Rivers of Naples, MA; brother, Norman Glenn Lytle of Sour Lake. Floyd was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Floyd was known by many endearing terms- “Pop”, “Granddaddy”, “Daddy”, “Dee” and “Delane”, but to us all he was known for his kind loving heart toward all, and the love we had for him.

Floyd’s life honoring service will be held at Triangle Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. A public visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., also at the church, Monday, March 2, 2015.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX. Services are under the direction of Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St., Lumberton, Texas 77657.

Daddy, you will be deeply missed and we look forward to seeing you again someday.
