Elsie Marie (Smith) Walker

Elsie Marie Walker, 77, of Buna, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015. She lived and loved life. She was raised in the Holiness Church and briefly attended a Quaker Church in her later years. She was a devoted care-giver, always caring for those around her. This manifested in her career in nursing homes and caring for her grandkids. In the last 20 or 30 years, she took to baking, gardening and birdwatching.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, James Smith and William Smith; sisters, Della Vandavear, Betty Smith and Mary Tice.

She is survived by her sons, Steven West and wife Tina of Temple, TX, Jeffrey West and wife Sissy of Woodville, TX, Bryan Cusick and wife Chrissy of Buna, TX and Ernest Walker, Jr. of Katy, TX; daughters, Eva Page and husband George of Buna, TX and Laverna Woods and husband David of Buna, TX; sisters, Norma Cox and Wanda Feezell; grandchildren, Chris, Michelle, Joseph, Kristina, Dustin, Darren, Kelsey, Brandon, Naea, Keli’I, and Bryana; great grandchildren, Jordan, Kaden, Foster, September and Bryson.

Her family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Thursday June 25, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m Friday, June 26, 2015. at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Page, Brandon Woods, Chris Cusick, Joseph West, Dustin West and Keli’I Souza.
