She was born October 31, 1935 in Chilton, TX to her parents Efford and Elsie Clowers. She met the love of her life, Earl, and married on December 3, 1953. She had many diverse jobs during her long and productive career, she was an office manager for Hertz Rent a Car at the Houston Hobby airport, she worked for Brown and Root in the business office, she worked over 12 years with the Harris County Probation Office, then finally she was best known in as the lady in the pink walker for almost 13 years as a greeter at the Lumberton Walmart. She was an active member in her church, First Baptist Church of Lumberton, where she helped take care of the children as well as many families and friend’s children whom she called her own. Known by everyone as “Granny”, she treated each child she met as truly a special gift, she had such a big heart and a bigger smile. She would always be available to give a hug and share everything she had for those in need, teaching lessons along the way. She served as a volunteer at Lumberton Elementary, where she received the Volunteer of the Year Award. A breast cancer survivor, Granny worked to raise money through the Hardin/S.
