Doyle Gene O' Quinn

Doyle Gene O'Quinn, age 81, passed away Wednesday August 9, 2017. He was born to Herbert Cleveland O'Quinn and Helen Louise Brown on December 8, 1935 in Daisetta, Texas.

Doyle came from the generation of very hard working men. He was a maintenance supervisor for Enron Corporation. Doyle loved to hunt and fish. Fishing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was a favorite past time for the family. Great memories were created with each of his "favorite" grandchildren. Doyle always told each grandchild that they were his favorite one which made each one feel that much more special.  He had a unique way of making the enjoyment of an ice cream sandwich seem like picnic time. That tradition will continue for generations to come. Doyle was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a true American patriot who enlisted right after high school to serve his country.  Serving our loving God and fellow human beings was part of who Doyle was. He and his loving wife of 61 years, Ivy,  were active members of Midway Baptist Church of Kountze. Doyle will be missed by all who loved him but his legacy and his traditions will continue with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to honor his memory is his beloved wife of 61 years, Ivy Jewell of Lumberton, TX; son, Darrell Gene O' Quinn and wife, Susan, of League City, TX; daughter, Deborah Kay Geldard and husband, Lauren J., of LaVernia, TX; sister, Barbara Cato and husband, Edd, of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Courtney Barlow of LaVernia, TX, Travis O'Quinn of Wamego, KS, Cody Geldard of Richmond, TX, Brandon O'Quinn of Houston,TX, and Shannon O'Quinn of League City, TX; great grandchildren, Rylee Barlow of LaVernia, TX, Isabelle Geldard of Richmond, TX and Brody Barlow of LaVernia, TX; also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Preceding Doyle in death are his parents, Herbert O'Quinn and Helen Brown; brothers, Ray O'Quinn, Charles O' Quinn, and Herbert O' Quinn Jr.

Visitation with family and friends will be 1:00 pm, Saturday August 12, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main St., Lumberton, TX followed by Doyle's life honoring service at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Thomas McGarity. Interment will be at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers are Travis O'Quinn, Cody Geldard, Brandon O'Quinn, Cody Barlow, Glenn Myrick, Bobby Cato.
