Donald Lynn Abbott

Donald Lynn Abbott, 71, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.  Donald was born on December 18, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Geraldine Nantz Abbott and James Samuel Abbott.  Donald was a member of the French High School class of ’65, and the U.S. Naval Reserve; he was Honorable Discharged.  He was a pipefitter with Local 195 for 15 years before leaving to form his own enterprise, Abbott’s Janitorial Service.  Donald was a festival/fair vendor and performed as a mime and clown during Mardi Gras, both locally and across Louisiana.  Health issues forced him to retire early.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine and James Abbott.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Sharon Keels Abbott; his 3 daughters, Reena Abbott Cook, and husband, Douglas of Independence, KS, and Houston, TX; Sheri Rogers Ford, and husband, Keith, of Vidor, TX, and Sandra Rogers Griffin, and husband, James, formerly of Vidor, TX, now Alamosa, CO; a son, James Wesley Abbott, and wife, Kay, of Clear Lake, TX; a brother, Dr. James Ron Abbott, and wife, Lillian, of Webster, TX; a sister, Beverly Ann Martinez; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Donald will be missed by all who were privileged to know and love him.
