Damian Lee Haines

Damian Lee Haines, age 8, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017, in Sulphur, Louisiana, following a tragic accident.  

Damian was born on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in Orange, Texas, to mother, Leslie Denise Brown, and father, Erik Haines.  He loved school and was excited to start 3rd Grade, as a Vidor Pirate, at Vidor Elementary School.  Damian had a big heart and loved being with his family.  He always wore the biggest smile and had the sweetest freckles.  At home, Damian loved to play basketball and would hang from the porch rungs, just to feel what it would be like when he was finally tall enough to dunk his basketball.  He was also great at doing flips on the trampoline and he loved skateboarding.  Damian had a rock collection that he kept in a special bucket and was always very proud to show it off.  He was a son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
 
Preceding Damian in death are his two grandfathers, Ernest L. Brown and Donnie Parker.
 
Those who will cherish his memory most are his mother, Leslie Denise Brown and his step-dad, Brian Benton, of Vidor, Texas; father, Erik Haines; brother, William Janise of Orange, Texas; two grandmothers, Janice Park and Cynthia Bertrand; great-grandmother, Myrtle Burke; uncle, Christopher Brown; aunt, Jennifer Hughes; cousins, Jaden, Jordan, and Harleigh; and numerous members of extended family and friends. 
Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Saturday September 9, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S. Main St. Lumberton TX. 77657. Damian's life honoring service will be 2:00 pm Sunday September 10, 2017 also at the funeral home

Honoring Damien as Pallbearers are Chris Brown, Mike Runnels, Bernie West, and Paul Melder.
