Cheryl Ann Stevens

Cheryl Ann "Dolly" Stevens, age 60, passed away Sunday September 3, 2017. She was born to Jesse Beasley and Lucy Sanchez on September 29, 1956 in Beaumont, Texas.

Ms. Stevens spent her career at Lumberton Independent School District. She loved her horses and dogs. Her love for animals was shown by the way she bottle fed one of her horses from less than 24 hours old. Fishing was a favorite hobby for Dolly.  In her earlier years, she was also known to ride a dirt bikes. Her granddaughter was a precious part of her life. She adored her. Dolly also had a grand puppy that she would care for when her daughter and son in law were at work.   She will be greatly missed but her legacy will continue.

Left to honor Dolly's memory is her daughter, Stephanie Plake and husband, Patrick, of Lumberton, TX; son, Sean Stevens of Lumberton, TX; brother, Roger Barker and wife, Becky of Lufkin, TX; sister, Kathy Beasley of North Carolina and; granddaughter, Ashley Stevens of Lumberton, TX; also survived by five nephews, family and friends.

Preceding Dolly in death is her loving husband of 41 years, Hugh Jim Stevens Jr. "Jimbo" of Lumberton, TX; her parents, Jesse Beasley and Lucy Sanchez.

Visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday September 10, 2017 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main St., Lumberton, TX. Dolly's life honoring service will be 3:00 pm, Monday September 11, 2017, also at the funeral home, officiated by Larry Trest.  Internment at Seaman's Cemetery in Chester, TX.

Serving as Pall Bearers are Chris Steven, Ryan Stevens, Mark Stevens, David Stevens, Chris Parks, and Shawn Hall.
