Catherine Caraway

Catherine Ann Caraway, 70, of Kountze, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2015.  She was born in Gorman, TX on November 4, 1945 to Ralph and Frances Caraway.

Catherine was a loveable, positive person who enjoyed life and lived in the present with whoever she was with. Growing up during the changes of the 60s, she enjoyed the culture that developed during that time mostly the dances such as the Jitterbug. As a student at La Porte H.S., she excelled in many of the activities and organizations she was involved in. Her love for dancing is something she continued and shared with her loving husband, Jeyrl, in her later years. Even though her sickness debilitated her as she aged, when she was a young mother she loved spending time with her children on camping trips and vacations. Catherine always enjoyed gardening until she got to the point she was not able. One of her proudest moments of her career was her work as a transcriber for NASA engineers. Her family was one of the most important things to her, especially cherishing her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband and partner of 10 years, Jeyrl Clack, Sr.; sons, Jeffrey Johnston of Round Rock, TX and Eli Noland, and wife, Heather of Vidor, TX; daughter, Melissa Salinas of Lumberton, TX; grandchildren, Roy Salinas, Brandon Salinas, Ashlynn Salinas, Zoe Noland, Colt Noland and Ian Johnston; and great-grandchild Ellie Jade Salinas.
