Billy Truman Grissom, 78, passed away on December 22, 2017 in Lumberton, Texas.  Billy was born on December 9, 1939 to Aubrey and Gladys Grissom in Fred, Texas.  He was a 1958 graduate from Silsbee High School, after which, he attended Lamar University on a Chemical Engineering scholarship.  After college, Billy served his country honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Army for three years.  Following his military service, Billy was employed by Bell Telephone as a lineman, and then in 1965 he would begin employment with Mobil Chemical O/A Beaumont, where he would retire in 1997.

Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and his family. He had a sincere love for country music and guitars, a love he would pass on to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

There are many words which can describe Billy, faithful, steadfast, strong, determined, and proud.  He adored his family; but the love and respect he had for his wife Elsie was like no other.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Gladys Grissom.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elsie Mae Grissom; his children, Billy Michael Grissom, and wife, Denise, of Vidor, Texas, David Wayne Grissom, and wife, Polly, of Beaumont, Texas, and Steven Glenn Grissom, of Magnolia, Texas; grandchildren, Michaelyn Rivera, and husband Rafael, Trent Grissom, and wife, Nicole, Kaylan Grissom, Regan Grissom, and Tyrel Coudrain; great grandchildren, Rafael Jr., Kyndall, Mila, Remi, Blake, Gracelynn, and Myka; brothers, James Grissom, and wife, Juanita, of Fred, Texas, Raymond Grissom, and wife Vivian, of Fred, Texas, and Thomas “Cobb” Grissom, and wife, Sandy, of Pineland, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He will be missed by all who loved and cherished him.

“We love you PAW PAW!”
