Betty Holmes

Betty Holmes, 89, passed from this life on July 17, 2016. She was born on February 16, 1927.

Betty loved to write poetry. That was her passion. Betty was a Church of Christ member. She was a wonderful Christian lady. She worked in a shoe store where she enjoyed serving people. She was married to Daniel H Holmes for ten years. It was known to everyone who saw them together that they loved each other very much.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Troy Mahair; second husband Daniel H Holmes; and her son, Thomas Mahair; and granddaughter, Rhonda Laughlin.

 Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Judy Poe and her husband Richard Poe Sr. of Lumberton, son, Michael Mahair and wife Karen of Lumberton; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

A graveside service is planned for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, officiated by Watson Franks.
