Barbara Jean (White) Griffin
February 25, 1937 ~ November 14, 2015 (age 78) 78 Years OldBarbara Jean Griffin, 78, of Pine Ridge, Texas passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015. She was born in Elmo, TX on February 25, 1937 to Leonard Dewitt (L.D.) and Mary Magdeline “Maggie” White.
The most important thing in Barbara’s life was her family. She married the love of her life Albert Allen Griffin, who everyone knew as “Curley”, on June 18th, 1955. They shared many wonderful years together, and even though she was a city girl at heart, she was willing to share a life out in the country. Barbara loved to play cards, dominoes, crossword puzzles and anything to keep her busy, even being known to read anything she came across. The city girl in her loved cars, like the Dodge Chargers she always favored. Although she enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening with family and kids. She was a member of the Assembly of God churches her whole life, but sent her children to a Baptist Church to ensure they had a Christian upbringing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and grandson, Chance Michael Hendrix.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathy Fregia, Linda Vernon and husband, Richard Schelsteder, and Lisa Griffin and husband, Jim Flowers; son, Danny Allen and wife, Tami; grandchildren, Keith Vernon, Stephen Fregia, Hunter Griffin, Sterling Griffin, Cade Hendrix, Wade Hendrix, Colten Hendrix, Angela Merriman and Jessica Beam; great-grandchildren Reagan Beam, Kaylynn Beam, Kadence Beam, Payton Hendrix, Stephen Fregia, Jr., Jena Fregia, Brianna Fregia, Bryce Hollyfield, Mikalah Hollyfield and Kraygen Merriman; brother, Billy White; and sisters, Rachel Holland, Mittie Jo Bowden, Dorothy McClung and Carolyn Davis.
