Audrey Mae Fischer

Audrey Mae Fischer, age 85, passed away Thursday October 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born to Adam Smith and Teresa Gaspard on December 21, 1931 in Pineville, LA.

Audrey was a devoted wife and mother, the calling she answered early in her life as a faithful servant. In her later years, she was a beloved Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was blessed to see all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren arrive. Her grandchildren called her Maw Maw and the great grandchildren referred to her as Grannie. Her daughter, Margaret, even deemed her as Grannie Grunk, a namesake that was not too popular with her but made the rest of the family smile. Audrey was a great cook who loved to fish and her green thumb made a beautiful garden. She also liked to dance. Going to the casinos with her family to play the slot machines were a favorite get away. The grandsons were her steady casino buddies. She also enjoyed the trips to Vegas and Reno to enjoy the festivities with her beloved husband, Carl. Audrey will be greatly missed by all who loved her but her legacy will continue with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to honor Audrey's memory is her loving husband of 33 years, Carl R. Fischer of Lumberton, TX; daughters, Margaret A. Sanburn of Lumberton, TX and fiancé Terry Washburn of Beaumont, TX, Peggy G. Robinson and husband Johnny W. of Lumberton, TX; grandchildren, Dwayne Sanburn of Baton Rouge, LA and wife Kathy Sanburn of Pineville, LA, Edward Wayne Haley and wife Christin of Lumberton, TX, Travis R. Gilbert and wife Alura of Lumberton, TX; great grandchildren, McKayla, Trenton, Eddie, Aubrey, Lexi, and Rose; also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Preceding Audrey in death are her parents, Adam Smith and Teresa Gaspard; brothers, David Smith and Charles Smith; sister Catherine Mott.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday October 8, 2017 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 South Main, Lumberton, TX 77657 with Aubrey's life honoring service at 4:00 pm. Officiated by Pastor Tony Wilcoxson
