Ted DuBose, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in Vidor with family by his side. He was born on April 21, 1936, in Port Neches, TX, the son of Lawrence Cullen Sr. and Myrtice Ella (Rice) DuBose.
Before graduating he joined the United States Marine Corp where he spent some time in Korea. During this time, he also married Lucille Carolyn (Harrington) DuBose, his wife of 66 years. He went on to become a Marine Electrician through the IBEW 479 Local and had the chance to work all over the world. Anyone who knew him knew that he was a “jack of all trades”. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. After his retirement from IBEW he kept himself busy with yard work and making wood crosses that he would give to family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Sherry Smith Boutte.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 66 years, Lucille DuBose, are his daughter, Pam Cloide and husband, Teddy Joe Cloide Sr. of Vidor; sons, Teddy DuBose Jr. of Vidor and Robert DuBose of Vidor; seven grandchildren, Kyle Smith and wife Angele of Beaumont, Kristin Hoerner and husband TJ of Mauriceville, Teddy Joe Cloide Jr. of Vidor, Brittney Atherton and husband Brad of Vidor, Cortni Holoman and husband Dmychal of Buna, Chase DuBose of Vidor; eleven great-grandchildren, Gill Smith and wife Marlie, Dalton Smith, Brooklyn Hoerner, Allison Hoerner, Auzalin Cloide, Keegon Cloide, Kinlee Cloide, Baylor Atherton, Christopher Smith, Bryce Atherton and Zariya Holoman.
